Company Merger - Which company name to use on resume?

Question:

I am currently employed for a company that was bought out. In the merger, my job and I were retained, however the company name is new. On my resume, should I put the old company name, new name, or both?

Answer:

To not appear as a job hopper, I would use the below format on the resume.

XXX Corp. (formerly YYY Inc.)
